Hi Inclusive Design Community!
I’m Cheryl, an Inclusive Designer at the Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU) Inclusive Design Research Center (IDRC).
Myself and the IDRC’s occupational therapy students are looking for people to take part in a virtual meeting to share feedback on the Community-Led Co-design Kit<https://co-design.inclusivedesign.ca/>. Co-design is an approach in which the design process, not just the outcomes, is developed in collaboration with community members who will be directly impacted by the design. The kit was developed in 2020-2021 by the IDRC, in hopes of sharing our co-design practices with the broader design community and public.
At this time, we are specifically looking for people who are beginners in design and community engagement and may not have done much of it, but are interested in it.
The meeting will be held on Zoom run for 1 hour. It will be comprised of an informal interview and a sorting activity using the whiteboard platform Miro or Google Docs. Unfortunately we do not have compensation for this meeting, as it is a student project. However, we hope that this can be an opportunity for our participants to learn a bit more about community-led co-design.
Should this still be of interest, please email cevans at ocadu.ca<mailto:cevans at ocadu.ca> and rshah at ocadu.ca<mailto:rshah at ocadu.ca> with a bit about yourself, your background, and what your existing knowledge is in design or community engagement, and why you’re interested in taking part.
Please also let us know if you have any access needs for our meeting, such as captioning, sharing materials in advance, or anything else.
Best,
Cheryl
