[Accessibility Consultations]

Hello Inclusive design community,
My name is Sara Boback, and I am emailing to share information about Scotiabank's Accessible Canada Act accessibility consultations.

Our Scotiabank accessibility team is in the process of developing our Scotiabank Accessibility Plan that will outline how Scotiabank is meeting and exceeding our obligations to identify, prevent and remove barriers for persons with disabilities. The plan will support Scotiabank in continuing to build an equitable, inclusive, and accessible financial institution by outlining clear goals and actions to further our progress.

Over the past year, we have tried to better understand how we can improve the way we do business across Canada. To do this, we took the following steps to understand and gather information on accessibility barriers and recommendations:

  *   Conducted six focused studies with customers with diverse disabilities
·       Participated in 10+ consultations to understand and gather information on accessibility barriers from community organizations
We are now excited to expand our consultations to a broader audience, with a short online survey and compensated 30 minute phone or virtual interviews with interested individuals. Accessibility accommodations will be provided. Not all those interested in participating in an interview will be selected to participate, and interviews will be compensated by gift card to select major Canadian retailers at $50.00 per 30 minutes.
We welcome participation from all Canadians, whether they are a Scotiabank customer or not. More information and details about how to participate in Scotiabank's accessibility consultations are available through the following links in English and French. The survey will close February 15th, 2023.
