Hello Inclusive Design Community!

The Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD University is partnering with WorkInCulture to host a two-part facilitated co-design workshop where selected workshop participants will dream up ideas and co-create solutions to make seeking and finding jobs in the arts & culture sector more inclusive and accessible.

The co-design workshop spans 2 sessions with a choice of the following dates and locations:

Session 1 dates:

  * Tuesday, October 4: IN-PERSON at OCAD University - 49 McCaul Street, Toronto from 10 am to 12 pm (ET), or
  * Thursday, October 6: ONLINE from 1 to 3 pm (ET)
Session 2 dates:

  * Tuesday, October 18: IN-PERSON at OCAD University - 49 McCaul Street, Toronto from 10 am to 12 pm (ET), or
  * Thursday, October 20: ONLINE from 1 to 3 pm (ET)

Participants must be able to attend both Session 1 and Session 2 and can attend a combination of online and in-person sessions.

*Please note that dates and times may change due to circumstances and possible COVID restrictions.

Regretfully, not everyone who applies will be accepted as capacity is limited to 30 participants.

Participants who are selected and attend the workshop will receive a $100 honorarium for their time and expertise.

Further details about the workshop are provided below.

About the Workshop

The workshop will involve participants drawing upon their experiences in seeking jobs in the arts and culture sector in Canada. The workshop will have both individual and group activities

In Session 1, participants will reflect upon their own personal job-seeking journey and then work collectively with others to create a collection of personal needs and preferences that affect their ability to find jobs in arts and culture.

In Session 2, participants will work together to envision the things that will help meet their needs and preferences from Session 1. Participants will also be given individual time to record their thoughts and respond to the ideas shared during the session.

Workshops will be facilitated by team members from the IDRC and WorkInCulture.
