J’ai le plaisir de vous informer que le projet de Règlement canadien sur l’accessibilité est publié dans la partie I de la Gazette du Canada à compter d’aujourd’hui, le 13 février 2021.

Le projet de Règlement fournit des détails sur la façon dont les entités fédérales doivent préparer et publier un plan sur l’accessibilité, un rapport d’étape et un processus de rétroaction tel que prévu par la Loi canadienne sur l’accessibilité. Le règlement établi également un cadre pour les sanctions administratives pécuniaires.

Les Canadiens ont maintenant jusqu’au 19 avril 2021 pour consulter le projet de Règlement et fournir une rétroaction. L’information sur la façon de fournir une rétroaction se trouve dans la partie I de la Gazette du Canada.

Séances d’information technique sur le projet de Règlement canadien sur l’accessibilité

Afin de faciliter la participation au processus réglementaire, quatre séances d’information technique (trois en anglais et une en français) seront tenues sur Zoom afin d’expliquer le projet de Règlement et répondre aux questions. Pour réduire la probabilité d’apparition de difficultés techniques, chaque séance d’information aura un nombre limité de participants, et ce, sur la base du « premier arrivé, premier servi ».

Ces séances d’information technique auront lieu en anglais les 16, 23 et 25 février et en français le 19 février. Toutes les séances d’information commenceront à 13 h (heure de l’Est) et se termineront à 14 h 30 (heure de l’Est). Si vous souhaitez vous inscrire pour participer à l’une des séances d’information virtuelles, veuillez répondre au présent courriel pour confirmer votre participation en y incluant les informations suivantes :

• Votre nom;
• L’organisation que vous représentez (le cas échéant);
• Votre adresse courriel;

• Votre numéro de téléphone;
• Toute exigence en matière d’accessibilité que vous pourriez avoir, y compris la traduction en ASL ou en LSQ et le sous-titrage;

I am pleased to inform you that the proposed Accessible Canada Regulations are available in Canada Gazette, Part I, as of today, February 13, 2021.

The proposed Regulations provide details on how federally regulated entities must prepare and publish an accessibility plan, progress report, and feedback process, as required by the Accessible Canada Act (ACA). The proposed Regulations also establish a framework for administrative monetary penalties.

Canadians now have until April 19, 2021 to review the proposed Regulations and offer their feedback. Information on how to provide feedback can be found in Canada Gazette, Part I.

Technical Briefings for the Proposed Accessible Canada Regulations

In order to facilitate participation in the regulatory process, four technical briefings (three in English, one in French) will be held over zoom to explain the proposed Regulations and answer questions. To decrease the likelihood of technical difficulties, each briefing will have a limited number of participants on a first come, first serve basis.

These technical briefings will take place in English on February 16, 23, and 25; and in French on February 19. All briefings will begin at 1 pm EST and end at 2:30 pm EST. If you would like to register to participate in one of these virtual briefings, please reply to this email confirming your participation and include the following information in your response:

·       Your name

·       The organization you represent (if any)

·       Your email address

·       Your phone number

·       Any accessibility requirements you may have, including ASL/LSQ translation and captioning;

·       Your first and second choice of briefing date.

Participants should expect an email before the briefings confirming the date of the briefing and a link to the Zoom meeting.
