Good Afternoon,
The Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians, Toronto Chapter with funding from the City of Toronto presents a training workshop: "Pivoting to Inclusion & Accessibility in the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
You are invited to participate in a free 2-hour interactive virtual training workshop with live Q & A that will equip you and your organization for success, and you will have the tools to become an accessibility leader and champion.
Date and Time:
Tuesday, February 9 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Why This Workshop:
The Covid-19 pandemic has dramatically altered the way we work, communicate, do business, and deliver our services. The pandemic has shined a spotlight on the barriers that we have all been facing and the need to increase accessibility.
Accessibility is about inclusion, universality and increasing usability for as many people as possible. Ultimately, increasing access is beneficial for everybody! Including for businesses, organizations, customers and employees.
By building your organizational policies, practices, staff training, website, intranet design, applications, documents, and other technology using an inclusive design approach, this will yield benefits for your brand, your customers, and your employees!
What’s In It For You:
You will learn the benefits for your business/organization when applying an accessibility lens to your products and services.
You will learn to self-assess your business/organization on accessibility best practices. Accessibility checklists will also be provided to you as a guide.
You will receive tools and resources to build an accessibility emergency plan for persons with disabilities.
You will have the tools to build your own accessibility strategic action plan that will track and measure your goals and successes.
Registration and Accessibility:
Space is limited.
To register, please send an email to msamaroo2014 at gmail.com or aebctoronto at gmail.com.
Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs in order to fully participate in this virtual training workshop. "
Sincerely,
Minette Samaroo
