Hi everyone,
Please see below for an overview and the link to our survey/research project on what skills and knowledge occupational therapists should have related to vision loss. Please feel free to distribute to your networks across Canada. Doc and PDF versions of the letter of information are attached. Michelle and Sarah, our excellent research students are copied on this email if you have questions or feedback of any sort.
Thanks,
Julia
Hello,
We are researchers from Queen's University conducting a study to help us understand what vision loss and vision rehabilitation-related knowledge, skills and behaviours should be covered in occupational therapy education. The title of our study is "Establishing a core Canadian curriculum for vision rehabilitation in entry level occupational therapy education: What essential knowledge and skills do occupational therapists require?"
We are hoping that you can help us in this work by providing comments on the competencies occupational therapists should have in working with people experiencing vision loss. We are seeking your feedback because of your personal experience, knowledge and/or potential interest in this topic. You are eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria:
* Over the age of 18 and capable of providing consent
* Able to read and write in the English language
* Are an occupational therapist; eye care professional specializing in low vision (e.g., optometrist, ophthalmologist); low vision / vision loss rehabilitation service provider; or, a person who identifies as having vision loss.
If you meet these criteria, please review the attached information letter and follow this link to the survey:
