Hello!
I hope this message finds you well. We are writing to ask if you would assist us in recruiting volunteers for our AGE-WELL funded project that aims to conduct usability testing of a navigation portal that provides an easy-to-search database for information regarding assistive technology funding and service programs in Canada. The Beta version of the website is available here if you are interested in reviewing it - http://macat.cubiclefugitive.com/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__macat.cubiclefugitive.com_&d=DwMF-g&c=JZUmuHfvZaOkNOGiUpQbGyGsM8Jf9oFbjpAib-DiM1Q&r=5721HXG-9m2dPCkUUuS-NFaUG3C_0O6kx_7W9Q5erpo&m=9ViYfUcyB6u2VCW8DYP3pBSql77boeGGAG0TcCmKPyQ&s=AbKn6hc3pVVLDcnC6bLORBmq3K39J7inCCoJwKfze9g&e=>.
We are specifically interested in evaluating the ease-of-use and user satisfaction to enhance usability with prospective database users. We would like to use this feedback to improve database development and impact.
We are seeking three types of participants:
1. Consumers: Individuals who self-identify as living with at least one type of disability (related to a physical; sensory - visual, hearing, touch; cognitive; or mental health limitation), and who may benefit from AT use;
2. Caregivers: Individuals who care for someone who requires or uses AT; and
3. Healthcare providers/community social services providers/industry vendors: Individuals who assist others in accessing AT resources.
Would you be willing to share the message below with your contact lists, newsletters and/or through your social media accounts to disseminate the recruitment information to anyone in these three categories who may be interested in participating? We aim to complete our website testing within 1 month of this email message. A PDF is also attached.
We thank you for considering this request. If you have any questions or concerns we would be happy to discuss further.
Sincerely,
Michael G. Wilson, PhD

Dear [member list],
Dr. Michael Wilson and Dr. Rosalie Wang have created a new database through the AGE-WELL NCE to help people to identify programs and services for accessing assistive technologies in Canada. They are currently conducting user testing to refine the database to ensure that it is as user-friendly as possible. I am emailing to ask if you would like to participate in this usability study by testing and providing your constructive feedback about the database. They aim to complete website testing within 1 month of this email message. As a token of appreciation for participating you will be provided a $30 gift card (e.g., to Chapters, Tim Horton's) for the time required to complete the study. A gift card will be mailed to you following the interview.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Michael or Rosalie or Tamika Jarvis who is coordinating the project.
Thank you for your time,
Michael G. Wilson, PhD
