Hi Pina,
LimeSurvey doesn't, per se, require coding expertise, however it certainly
would not hurt to have access to some of that expertise as it allows for
greater flexibility.

I think that would be great. I think like many organizations though, they
may not have developers who can dig in or code. Many just need to use
something out of the box. Let's see if we can setup a call for everyone to
join. Would someone at IDRC interested in hosting?

Just adding to conversation around survey platforms. We use a combination of
proprietary dashboards (things that we've made ourselves) and have, over the
past couple of years, started to incorporate the use of LimeSurvey
(https://www.limesurvey.org/en/) and then hosting the mix on our own
servers. This approach means that you have to be willing to dig in and do
some of the coding yourself but you have the additional assistance of an
extensive support community. We've, for the most part, been able to find
solutions to most of the problems of working through the API and related
issues. We have also been able to rely on the services of an outside
Canadian web development company, which specializes in these types of
projects, when things go beyond the knowledge of those in the research
group. I can pass the name of the web dev company to you, if you are
interested in contacting them yourself.

Hi Julia,
Happy to help if I can. I've worked on a number of survey projects in Canada
that needed to be both accessible and private in the last couple of years,
and involved various specific communities and languages.
Choosing the best platform(s) depends on a number of aspects regarding the
structure and nature of the survey, and so there is some nuance to this.
I'd be happy to have a call with you about it, if that would help.
Regards,
David
