Dear KHSC Vision Rehabilitation Clinic,



I hope this email message finds you well.



We are writing to ask for your assistance in recruiting possible participants for a study we are completing.



The purpose of our overall research study is to explore how older adults with age-related vision loss, use formal (e.g., community services) and informal supports (e.g., family support, local carpool) to support their participation in desired activities. In this part of the study, we are looking for volunteers to take part in interviews to talk about their journey through the healthcare system and their experiences in using different services and supports and connecting with useful resources.



We are specifically recruiting older adults to participate in a 1 to 2 hour virtual interview based on their preferred option for communication (e.g., phone or video conference). They can involve a caregiver or support person if they wish.

This information will be used to guide service and resource development at the South East Ontario Vision Rehabilitation Service. We will also look to publish the research results and share the results with you and other organizations supporting older adults with vision loss.



Would you be willing to share this information with your staff and networks? We hope to finish interviewing participants by the end of July or early August 2020.



A word document poster is attached, and you can feel free to share the text of the poster in a more accessible format for your audience.



We also have included a short recruitment script for service providers to use to explain the study to their patients/clients.
