Toronto Public Library (TPL) is continuing our journey and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility for our customers and staff. As TPL initiates our next phase of implementing a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP), we are seeking a Manager, Accessibility to drive the delivery of the plan. Reporting to the Manager, Equity & Labour Relations, the Manager, Accessibility will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of TPL's MYAP designed to provide a roadmap for all TPL divisions to be compliant with the Access for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and to provide an accessible environment in which people with disabilities can access TPL's services and facilities, information and communications, and employment opportunities, in a way that meets their individual needs. The Manager, Accessibility is also responsible for providing policy advice and expertise on TPL's compliance obligations under the AODA and other related accessibility legislation. The manager will support TPL staff through the development and implementation of initiatives that provide advice, policies, and tools that promote an inclusive workplace and support staff in providing accessible services and facilities. The manager is a key contact to government representatives and agencies on accessibility compliance matters. TPL's Strategic Plan 2020-2024 includes an Equity Lens that guides the work of this position. TPL is committed to helping level the playing field for all Torontonians - with a particular focus on equity-seeking groups and vulnerable populations. We will work to understand and break down barriers to access and increase inclusion to ensure that everyone who wants to use the library feels welcome and represented in our spaces, is able to access our services, and can benefit from the outcomes we're driving.
