Have you worked with an occupational therapist? Would you like to be involved in the development of the occupational therapy in Canada?
The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is looking for “consumers” – people who have received occupational therapy as an individual or within an organization – to serve on the Advisory Panel for a publication that guides occupational therapy practice in Canada.
Working with occupational therapists and other stakeholders, the two consumer members of the Advisory Panel will provide input into the development and dissemination of this work. We anticipate two periods of activity. During October to December 2019, Advisory Panel members will support the co-editors in developing the table of contents and identifying potential chapter authors. During the fall of 2020, Advisory Panel members will provide targeted consultation to the co-editors on the specific aspects of the chapters. During both periods of time, the workload is estimated to be about 2 to 4 hours per week. All meetings will take place electronically. That is, no travel will be necessary.
We believe that the input of people who have participated in an occupational therapy is vital to developing this important publication. Members of the Advisory Panel will be acknowledged in the publication and will receive a complimentary copy of the publication.
If you are interested in this volunteer position, please send a short letter outlining your experience working with an occupational therapist and any other life experience that may be important to serving as a panel member.
If you would like to discuss this position before applying, please contact:
