Subject: [CSI AllMembers] Volunteer Posting: Board Director
To: <allmembers at socialinnovation.ca>

*Free Geek Toronto* is a not for profit employment social enterprise in the
heart of Toronto helping to build digital inclusion. We accept donations of
electronic waste, refurbish computers, and re-sell them at accessible
prices. We also provide employment and training opportunities.

Our vision is to make our city a place where e-waste is disposed of
responsibly, safely and ethically, and where everyone has access to
computers and the Internet.

Our Mission is to promote social and economic justice, focusing on
marginalized populations in the Greater Toronto area by:

• Reducing the environmental impact of electronic waste through reuse and
recycling

• Increasing access to computing and communications technologies

• Promoting the use of Free and Open Source Software

• Providing technical education, training, and job skills.

Free Geek Toronto (FGT) is looking for enthusiastic and engaged volunteers
to serve on our Board of Directors. Board members are elected at the Annual
General Meeting (June 9, 2019). We are currently recruiting three volunteer
Board members. We encourage all candidates who are passionate about our
cause to apply. Applicants with interest and/or experience in one or more
of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:

   -

   Grant writing
   -

   Marketing, communications and partnerships
   -

   Corporate sponsorship.

We are committed to actively supporting diversity and social inclusion in
the Free Geek Toronto community. We encourage people of all backgrounds,
genders, ages, education and income levels, beliefs, cultural, ethnic or
sexual identities, and those living with visible or invisible disabilities
to apply to volunteer with us. We will look for opportunities to support
people from underrepresented/marginalized communities to get involved. We
are active supporters of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering
and math).

*Why Join Our Team?*

   -

An opportunity to exercise your leadership skills by participating in
the decision-making processes of an organization in a significant phase of
   growth.
