Hi all!
We are thrilled to invite you to join us downtown in Toronto for a rare opportunity to watch Unlimited: The Symposium which will be live streamed at OCAD University. Please share the following information with anyone you think would be interested!
Unlimited works with Deaf and disability-identified artists from all over the UK – England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - to make small and large-scale projects happen in the UK and around the world. Unlimited: The Symposium is a disability-led, two-day discussion event aimed at both a national and international audience across the cultural sector. Located in London, England, this event brings together UK-based and international arts organizations, researchers and cultural sectors across the globe. For more information about Unlimited follow this link: https://weareunlimited.org.uk/
Co-hosted by Bodies in Translation, Creative Users Projects and the Inclusive Design Research Centre at OCAD University, this event will begin with an informal social meet and greet with pizza and beverages and will follow with a live streaming of the Unlimited program entitled, "Future". This gathering in Toronto will coincide with gatherings taking place in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and in Australia, Singapore, and Nigeria.

About Bodies in Translation:
Bodies in Translation: Activist Art, Technology, and Access to Life (BIT), is a multidisciplinary, university-community research project that at its core, aims to cultivate and research activist art. In this project, ‘activist art’ refers to: disability art, Deaf art, Mad art, aging and e/Elder art, fat art, and Indigenous art. We, the researchers, artists, curators, practitioners, and community members on this grant, explore the relationship between cultivating activist art and achieving social and political justice. We believe that activist art holds the power to represent these aggrieved communities who are routinely represented as non-vital, a representation that often produces violent and even deadly effects– differently; as artistic, creative, agentive, political, community-connected, and full of vitality.
About Creative Users Projects:
Creative Users Projects is a shapeshifter, cultural connector and sector builder of disability arts and accessible curatorial practice in Canada. We are a not-for-profit disability-led arts organization animated by the disparate intersections of art/design, accessibility, community activism and disability. Through our ongoing arts engagement, collaborative curatorial programming and strategic outreach initiatives, we believe in the impact of highlighting, and making visible, disability in the arts in generating audiences, cultivating new talent, and building more accessible arts spaces in Canada.
About the Inclusive Design Research Centre (IDRC):
The IDRC is a research and development centre at OCAD University where an international community of open source developers, designers, researchers, advocates, and volunteers work together to ensure that emerging information technology and practices are designed inclusively.
Thank you to the Toronto Arts Council for access support!
