Are you frustrated by locks? Does the standard lock make your locker
difficult to access? Help co-design a lock that works better for you and
others. I am an Occupational Therapist in Ontario enrolled in the Master’s
of Design in Inclusive Design Program at OCAD University in Toronto,
Ontario.
I am conducting a Major Research Project focusing on the co-design of an
accessible lock. I am looking for students who are between the ages of
11-15 with a physical disability that are interested in being co-designers
in the project. This project can also include your family members and
members of your support team such as Occupational Therapists, Teachers and
Educational Assistants (if applicable and if you and they are interested).
I am working with my Project Supervisor, Dr. Jutta Treviranus, and
Committee Member, Dr. Gayle Nicoll. This project has been approved by the
OCAD University Research Ethics Board (number 2018-57).
If you (or your child/student/client) would like to take part in the
project and/or would like more information about the project, please
contact me, Claire Andrews (BSc, MScOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)), by email at

Sincerely,
Claire Andrews, MScOT, OT Reg. (Ont.)
