[community] intro and LipSync details for upcoming design crit

Hi – I’m Stewart, Regional Coordinator for the Neil Squire Society’s Makers Making Change initiative, <http://makersmakingchange.com/>.  We connect makers to people with disabilities to create affordable open source assistive technologies.

In an upcoming crit, I'll be introducing LipSync <http://www.makersmakingchange.com/lipsync/>, a mouth controlled input device that enables people with little or no hand movement to operate a touchscreen device or computer. Its key features include:

* appears as a USB ( or optionally Bluetooth) mouse, with XY movements controlled by a precision miniature joystick sensor that requires only a very slight pressure on the shaft in order to move the cursor. The mouthpiece is hollow, allowing a person to perform left and right mouse button clicks by puffing or sipping into the tube.

* mounts via a standard low-cost microphone stand thread.

* all control hardware is housed in the unit itself, so lends itself to mobile use.

* available in kit form for $250.

* case and joystick mechanism are 3D-printed, and entire product is open source: <https://github.com/makersmakingchange/LipSync>
