We want to share this exciting procurement opportunity with you. Public
Services and Procurement Canada has an active call for proposals
<https://buyandsell.gc.ca/procurement-data/tender-notice/PW-17-00809528> to
seek digital, open source solutions to improve accessibility for our Open
by Default portal <http://pilot.open.canada.ca/en/open-by-default-pilot>
and online recruitment for Government of Canada jobs.



The Government of Canada has made ambitious commitments to being open by
default.  For us, being open means providing information and opportunities
for citizens to participate in their government.  And when we open
government, we need to open it to all citizens, regardless of their
accessibility needs. Through this call for proposals we are seeking to
enhance and improve accessibility for people with disabilities by testing
small scale solutions on the two above mentioned platforms.



In addition to improving the accessibility of our online services, the
Government of Canada is also committed to making the procurement process
simpler and less burdensome for small businesses by streamlining and
shortening the process for innovative solutions, and providing increased
value to taxpayers. These efforts reflect our commitment to make it easier,
simpler and less burdensome for small businesses to work with the federal
government, while maintaining an open, fair and transparent process.



If successful, this simplified procurement pilot project could be adapted
and extended to larger procurement processes.



We are seeking to work closely with leading innovators in Canada and abroad
to help the Government of Canada make our online content more accessible
for people with disabilities. We hope that you’ll help spread the word to
your networks and interested companies and encourage leading tech
innovators to bid. Together, we can open government and make our services
more accessible to all Canadians.



Bidders have until *January 31st, 2018 at 14:00 Eastern Standard Time* to
submit their proposal.

d’approvisionnement et à alléger le fardeau des petites entreprises en
simplifiant et en raccourcissant le processus établi pour les solutions
novatrices et en offrant une valeur ajoutée aux contribuables. Ces efforts
s’inscrivent dans notre engagement à faciliter, à simplifier et à alléger
les interactions entre les petites entreprises et le gouvernement fédéral,
tout en maintenant un processus ouvert, équitable et transparent.



S’il se révèle une réussite, ce projet pilote sur l’approvisionnement
simplifié pourrait être adapté et appliqué à d’autres processus
d’approvisionnement de plus grande envergure.



Nous cherchons à collaborer étroitement avec des innovateurs de premier
plan au Canada et à l’étranger pour aider le gouvernement du Canada à
rendre notre contenu en ligne plus accessible aux personnes handicapées. Nous
espérons que vous aiderez à faire passer le mot à vos réseaux et aux
entreprises intéressées et que vous encouragerez les innovateurs en
technologie de pointe à soumissionner. Ensemble, nous pouvons ouvrir le
gouvernement et rendre nos services plus accessibles à tous les Canadiens.



Les soumissionnaires ont jusqu’au *31 janvier 2018 à 14 h (heure normale de
l’Est)* pour présenter leur proposition.
