[community] A quick question

Hi Aya,

I like the comparison in this way: universal design is designing a free
size t-shirt, and Inclusive design is: designing one t-shirt for one person
that can be modified and used by all! for example, the famous curve cut
effect, designed for wheelchair access, but used by everyone (i.e,
strollers, and people fixed on their smartphones and walking).

   - Universal Design: "the design of products and environments to be
usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, *without the need*
   for adaptation or specialized design.”
   - Accessible design: a design process in which the needs of people with
   disabilities are specifically considered.
   - Usable Design: Like accessible and universal design, usable design
serves to create products that are easy and efficient to use.
   - Conclusion: If product designers apply universal design principles,
with a special focus on accessibility for people with disabilities, and if
usability experts routinely include people with a variety of disabilities
in usability tests, more products will be accessible to and usable by
   everyone.” *http://www.washington.edu/doit/what-difference-between-accessible-usable-and-universal-desig

Then what is Inclusive design? I believe, we can’t and should not create a
box! A more human focused approached would be Inclusive design. Accessible
design is not separate ( a different box/label) from *user-friendly* design.
*Inclusive design* is: the design of products, service and environments (
urban/digital), based on *design for all *to the greatest extent
possible, *with
the possibility of modification *and human center design.

Cheers
