Personally I wish we would stop using the term universal design as often it creates confusion amongst people. I understand its origin, but would you say that too has morphed more into inclusive design?

Hi Aya,
Great question!

I’ve tried to explain our meaning and use of the term Inclusive Design rather than Universal Design here:

As further clarification, our version of the term inclusive design emerged at the same time but was different from the use in the UK, where inclusive design was used to denote a necessary compromise to universal design that considered the business processes.

I’d love to answer any questions you have related to this.

Dear All,

Can someone define both terms "Universal Design" and "Inclusive Design"?
Are they the same or not? please clarify the difference if there is any.

Thank you very much
